Assalamua'laikum...
Banyak lagi yg telah dirancang tetapi tidakj berlangsung - bukan rezeki kita lagi agaknya - tetapi dgn komitment hanya beberapa ahli-ahli tegar sekurang-kurangnys beberapa program yg dirancang, berlangsung dgn jayanya, Alhamdulillah.
SELAMAT HARI LAHIR CHAP AYAM PHOTOGRAPHERS!!!

Pekeliling Flats- The End of a Beginning / by shahroll
Ok, I think there is no more introductory needed for this project, its all well written by Torque in this previous post. Here are my shots, under the theme "Decoration Empty". It's about memory of Pekeliling's tenant. Some may say they left nothing except a lots of scrap or un-used furniture, but what we found is, they left us with a lots of "EMPTINESS". Lots of thanks to Torque, Ian Ahmad, Jidin and Masri to make this project happen, next time we will hit the street again.. insyallah. The shots of "Decoration Empty".

Ok, I think no more introductory is needed for this project, its all well written by Torque in this previous post. Here are my shots, done under the theme "Memory Remains". It's about memory of Pekeliling's tenant. Some may say they left nothing except a lots of scrap or un-used furniture, but what we found is, they left us with lots of "memories", and I believe if they see this pictures 10 or 20 years forward, they will smile as they know, this was once a place they called home. Lots of thanks to Torque, Masri, Jidin, Sharoll and kamarul to make this project happen, next time we will hit the street again... insyallah. The shots of "Memory Remains".
Its used to be a 'kedai kopi' for Pekeliling flats tennant where they will get together for breakfast and having a chat with others about some interesting topics, now it was forgotten and be left alone waiting his time ...
Pekeliling Flats - The end of a beginning
The CHAPS organized an impromptu outing recently - let it be known there will be more of this from now on! The interests started off when a bunch of "usual suspects" crash into the newly installed Talk-Cock Block @ ChikenChatSpace...and decided to go for an outing. The Pekeliling Flat Series will be presented by those who went for the outing in stages, within a week or so, insyaAllah.
One of the earlier landmarks to the city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the Tunku Abd Rahman Flats or better known as Pekeliling Flats was the second high-rise residential after the Suleiman Court. In 2006, two of the eleven blocks - A and B - were demolished to give way for future development of the city. The piece of land where Blocks A & B used to stand tall, has been turned to function as a parking lot, nothing more.
Now, almost 3 years later, the remaining blocks on the other side of the bustling road of Jalan Tun Abd Razak, void of legal tenants, awaits similar fate....

Part I: Blocks K & L
What is left of what perhaps used to be a barber shop in Block K of the Pekeliling Flats.

A floorspace in Block L of the Pekeliling Flats cluttered with dusts & remnants. Block L & K would be the low rise units of the whole complex, housing business premises to the community back then. If you look closely there are clothing on the first floor of the background building, Block K. There are some illegal tenants still in these otherwise doomed blocks.

Block F still stood proud though totally vacant - except for illegal tenants/ squatters.

Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman
The road was previously known as Batu Road as it was originally a path leading to the Batu village where mining activities took place.
In the 1930s, development overtook the village turning the swamps, rice fields and coconut estates in the area into one of the busiest roads in Kuala Lumpur.
Traders here sell a variety of items along with the retailers, wholesalers, and hawkers. There are also hotels and a cinema here.
Post-war buildings with interesting architectural designs are also part of the road’s draw.
The road was later renamed after the country’s first Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Rahman ibni Almarhum Tuanku Muhammad. He was also the eighth Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Seri Menanti and second Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan.
In present day, the older folks still refer to the road as Batu Lut, a localised version of its old name while the younger generation often refer to it as Jalan TAR.

Bujang di Menara Gading by Muhammad Amirull bin Jaafar
